Update: VM & PR semester outline ppt

8 Feb

Hi everyone

As requested I have put up the the semester outline ppt for Visual Merchandising and Public Relations.

Please find it on the right hand side in the widget area ready for download.

For Public Relations

Please make sure that you have a blog set up with:

  • The “Hello World” post changed to your first post
  • An about page that explains what the blog is about

Some of you have already done this, but most have not. This is crucial to set up before you start blogging.

For Visual Merchandising

Remember that by next week Friday I will need your one page highlighting which store you will use to do an observation report on. For more details regarding the brief, check out the semester outline on the right.

And that’s all for me. If you have any further requests please just ask me by commenting on this post.

I trust we will have a great semester together. I’m looking forward to it!

Mr. D…. Now that i have successfully inserted my widgets.. how do i write a post and have it catagorised under the specific widget…. ie: if i want to write about a pony and i want to have the pony post listed under the animal category?! FOR EXAMPLE! not writing about ponies 😦 sadly….

Ok, I think you may have misunderstood. You do not need to add a “categories” widget for each category, which is what I think you have done. Remove all the widgets with the following headings: “What’s Hot”, “What’s Not”, “Recipes”, “Magazines & Articles”, Wining and Dining.

Then, only place ONE “categories” widget in the widget area and title it “Categories.” Then under the “Posts” tab in your dashboard there is a secondary link called “Categories”. Go there and add all the categories (What’s Hot”, “What’s Not”, “Recipes” etc) you want. Then, when you are writing a post, you can choose which category you want it to be placed in on the right hand side by checking the relevant box.

Let me know if you can figure it out.

      Mr. D

PS: Maybe you can post about gourmet pony food as a consolation… 😉
