Checking in

12 Oct

Hello there my dear old faithfuls.

Let me just tell you that tech is just not the same without you all….. Its better! Hahaha. Just joking….

Considering that you all probably still follow this blog I thought to say hello. Would be great to know how you all are doing at your various places of work. Nothing has really changed much on this side. All us lecturers are still plodding along, setting up tests, marking assignments, telling students to KEEP QUIET!!! you know the drill… Such is the life of a lecturer. Comes with the territory I guess.

I have noticed that some of you are still blogging. I’m glad. The assignment was always designed to give you something that could add value to your life as a whole. So I’m glad that some of you are finding it worth while. I still enjoy reading them, so keep em coming.

If you get a change in your “busy schedules” 😉 please pull through to this blog and make a comment on this post. Would be good to know how things are going. Like are you Fedicks people still washing Vienna’s and eating week old bread???? Must be illegal….

Anyhoo, nice chatting. Trust you all are doing super well and making lots of money!!! Hahahaha!!! 😉

Mr. D

PS: Something Interesting: My cousin just started a blog. It’s about food and weight loss and stuff like that. Thought some of you might be interested. She is quite quircky and fun to read. Check it out:

    Hey Mr D!

Firstly, I need to THANK YOU for arranging this internship for Aimee and myself. We totally love it, this place is super cool!
Everyone here is amazing, And Jason is one of the funniest people ever. As with all jobs, there are ups and downs, but we get through it.

We get to attend events, meet people and just have loads of fun. Hope you will be attending our presentations in November, to hear more about our time spent here.

      Hi Mariam

I’m so glad that you are enjoying yourselves and that Jason is treating you well. He is a good guy. And yes, I guess that there are always ups and downs in any type of business. But its how you handle the tough situations that builds your character and shows your worth.

I look forward to attending the event and hearing all about your adventures at Shout Factory. What is the date?

Our presentations are on the 14 & 15 November.
        See you There

Lol. Mr Cromhout…i like your mention about the Fedics people. Am glad your still have us in mind. But anyway its now a different ball game, coz after our visit at tech we were told that we have to speak for ourselves since we are young adults. And the approach did work coz some of us decided to be managers…to do the managerial part of business than chopping onions and washing viennas. lol, Never. We told them that we cannot lose both money and a good job. haibo. but its only a matter of time then we will forget about Fedics. Am glad you are doing great at tech….miss them old days.

      Hi Gerald.

Glad that you were able to sort things out at Fedics. And now you are managers… great! I hope that some of the managerial elements I taught you are working…;)

But this is good experience. Managers earn more and you are more likely to find a position afterwards with this experience. So well done!

Look forward to hearing how it all went at the presentation event.

Hi Mr D, Good to hear from you.
Things are super awesome in the workplace thankyou very much. Glad to say that I no longer work at Fedics, TGBTG:) found a better place. Sad that some of them are still there, I trust things are looking up for them now though. I can really say with absolute certainty in my heart that I think everyone was placed where they fit best, no matter the circumstances.
(even though some of us had to sort ourselves out in the end). Moving on.

The fact that we get to meet people in the industry and all the big bosses and top shots makes it even better;)
This is the life. I second Mariam with the ups and downs part but that only makes one stronger in the end.

It’s so cool being a part of something that really means something, lol.

It’s hecticly busy this side, but it makes it even more exciting when we spin like this! haha!
My manager actually reminds me of you. weird but true —

Anywho, I’m still glued to your blog posts, keep them coming:)

    See you next month.
    Oh, presentations date: 15 November

      Hi Anchan-Lee

Glad you are enjoying yourself. Ultimately if you do not like your situatuion, you should do something about it, and it would seem that both yo and Gerald have done that. And now you are all the better for it. Well done. I good lesson to learn so early in life.

Its good that you are meeting industry people. It is as much “who you know” as “what you know”… as I’m sure you know…;)

So is your manager young, hip, and passionate about marketing???

As for my blog. Have taken a break for the meantime. Will probably start again in November. but glad that you enjoy them.

      Mr. D

PS: What does TGBTG mean? (looks like I’m not that hip…;)

      • Anchan-Leenchan-Lee November 22, 2012 at 7:18 pm #

Sorry for the late response Mr D. It would appear that my emails got stuck somewhere in cyber space. TGBTG=To God be the glory 🙂

As for Jurie, he’s just passionate about everything. Not that young, but still hip and happening! Ha-ha.

I think we’re all quite sad ’cause we didn’t see you on the 15th and 16th, Hope your doing great.

        See u*
