Update: VM & PR semester outline ppt

8 Feb

Hi everyone

As requested I have put up the the semester outline ppt for Visual Merchandising and Public Relations.

Please find it on the right hand side in the widget area ready for download.

For Public Relations

Please make sure that you have a blog set up with:

  • The “Hello World” post changed to your first post
  • An about page that explains what the blog is about

Some of you have already done this, but most have not. This is crucial to set up before you start blogging.

For Visual Merchandising

Remember that by next week Friday I will need your one page highlighting which store you will use to do an observation report on. For more details regarding the brief, check out the semester outline on the right.

And that’s all for me. If you have any further requests please just ask me by commenting on this post.

I trust we will have a great semester together. I’m looking forward to it!

Update: CV Example

16 Sep

Please find an example of my CV on the right hand side of the blog page underneath the links to FoodStuffSA and Food24 in the Resources section. Also note the caption written underneath

Please do not use my words. This is an example to help you develop your own one. Make sure that it is uniquely “you”. Just use the headings and structure as a guideline.

Make sure that someone PROOF READS both the CV and the motivation email/ letter before you send it out. Preferebly someone who is in the working world and who has a good command of the English language. I cannot stress the importance of good solid communication. It really does “speak” volumes…. If you know what I mean. 🙂

A good CV alone will not get you a job. It is only a tool. In the end, you are the “product” and you must communicate your value to the business in the best way possible. A good CV and accompanying motivation email/ letter only gives you a foot in the door. In the end, you must walk through it and deliver superior value…
